Australia International Wine Challenge

JUDGES

Our Co-Chairmen are John Salvi MW (longest-serving Master of Wine), Michel Bettane (co-founder of Bettane and Desseauve Europe's most respected wine publication), Bill Hardy (represents the 5th generation of Hardy family), and Katsuyuki Tanaka (Japanese leading wine writer and wine taster).  They will be joined by a glittering assembly of top wine professionals from Australia and the world’s leading wine markets.

Each panel will comprise two international and two Australian judges, and will be led by an internationally-recognised wine figure. The Chairman and Co-chairs will re-taste all wines where the panel cannot reach a decision and wherever a gold or platinum medal has been awarded – this ensures the optimum results and continuity between different panels.

JUDGING

All wines will be tasted blind.   Flights will reflect recommended retail price, and as far as possible the same variety/style of wine, thus giving every entry the best possible chance of success and giving maximum credit to both quality and value.

Our philosophy is that every wine (regardless of variety, price, region of origin) has the potential to be a winner!
